EFCO Announces Industrial Computer-on-Module Carrier Board Series with EKit AI System for AloT Applications
New Products Support COMe Type6/7, SMARC and Qseven® Modules
Taipei, Taiwan – February 20, 2019 - EFCO, a world-class supplier of industrial PC, gaming and EMS solutions, introduced their industrial module carrier board (aka base boards) series today for COM Express® Type 6, Type 7, SMARC and Qseven®. The new carrier boards will be equipped with the company’s EKit software package, based on its propriety artificial intelligence algorithms, providing all systems with monitoring and system analysis.
The carrier boards will be demonstrated at Embedded World 2019, in Nuremberg, Germany, from February 26 – 28, In EFCO’s booth #253 in Hall 1.
Artificial intelligence is playing a growing role in IoT applications. With the EKit software program, EFCO’s carrier boards are poised to support Artificial Intelligence Internet of Things (AIoT) by offering real-time monitoring of system behavior. For example, using machine learning-based analytics, the Ekit software can automatically identify patterns or anomalies to help systems operate more efficiently or detect malfunctions.
“By taking advantage of industry standard computer-on-modules, industrial module carrier boards always accelerate time-to-market and reduce development risk,” stated Bryan Lin, General Manger of EFCO. “Our latest series of carrier boards follows our product concept of including EFCO’s EKit artificial intelligence system, which makes them a perfect fit for all IoT and AIoT applications, including factory automation, machine vision, AGV, in-vehicle, and surveillance, to name a few. With 20 years of experience, EFCO has a wide range of ready-to-use carrier boards that are compatible with the latest technologies and hardware vendors.”
EKit AI System with Dynamic Display Module
Based on proprietary AI algorithms, EFCO’s intelligent EKit is a software-based program that collects data from the device and performs dynamic, real-time monitoring of system behavior. Its Dynamic Display Module (DDM) is a key feature that dynamically displays system information such as CPU temperature, power consumption, RTC battery voltage, DC voltage, hardware health, and PoE status, as well as customized customer information. The EKit ensures that the system maintains stable operation at all times and provides advanced warning if proactive trouble-shooting is required. This prevents unpredictable losses due to sudden, or unexpected operating failures.
The carrier board houses the application-specific connectivity and interfaces such as USB 3.0, multiple Ethernet ports (optional PoE), UART, Display port, etc. EFCO also provides a system-level customization solution with a combination of fully customized carrier boards assembled with design-in COM modules to fulfill customers’ needs for various applications, including factory automation, machine vision, in-vehicle, surveillance, GPU computing, IOT and edge computing.
